AI and machine learning
Training data and checkpoints
Keep your datasets and checkpoints on ObjectiveFS and mount them on every GPU node. Each node reads shared data at near local-disk speed from the memory and disk cache. Checkpoints go straight to object storage, so losing a spot instance doesn't mean losing progress. Your existing data loaders work unchanged.
Learn more: disk cache on instance store, performance optimization.
Model serving across an inference fleet
New inference nodes mount the filesystem and read model weights directly, with no per-node copy step. Warm the disk cache ahead of time and use mmap to load large model files, so scale-up stays fast as demand changes.
Learn more: disk cache warming, mmap support.
Workspaces for AI agents and sandboxes
Coding agents, notebooks and CI runners need a real filesystem that outlives the container. ObjectiveFS gives each agent or team a POSIX workspace that any instance can mount. Snapshots let you go back to a known-good state when an automated run goes wrong.
Learn more: snapshots, per-user filesystems.
Kubernetes and containers
ReadWriteMany volumes
With the ObjectiveFS CSI driver, pods on any node can read and write the same volume. There's no NFS server or storage cluster to run. Use it on your own clusters or on managed Kubernetes, and move stateful workloads between nodes, zones and clusters while the data stays in your own bucket.
Learn more: CSI driver, managed Kubernetes.
Docker
Mount ObjectiveFS into containers with the Docker volume plugin, so containers on different hosts share the same persistent data.
Learn more: Docker, Docker volume plugin.
Media and rendering
Render farms, transcoding and asset pipelines
Render nodes, transcode fleets and asset pipelines read and write the same filesystem concurrently. Spin up instances for a job and shut them down when it ships. Your assets stay in the bucket, with no storage cluster to run between projects.
Learn more: large-file performance, processing incoming data.
Financial services
kdb+ historical databases
kdb+ memory-maps its historical database (HDB) partitions, and ObjectiveFS supports mmap. Keep years of tick and market data on ObjectiveFS at object storage prices and mount the same HDB on every query, analytics and research node. Frequently queried partitions are served from the kernel, memory and disk cache.
Learn more: mmap support, memory and disk cache.
Compliance controls
Protect trading records and audit logs with immutable and append-only files and directories, full ACL support and point-in-time snapshots. Client-side encryption keeps your keys under your control.
Learn more: immutable and append-only attributes, ACL support, snapshots.
Backup and compliance
Backup and disaster recovery
Read-only point-in-time snapshots give you restore points you can mount at any time, whether you need one file back or a whole filesystem after a ransomware incident. Your data stays encrypted with a key that only you hold.
Learn more: snapshots, backup from a snapshot.
Regulated environments and data sovereignty
Run on AWS, Azure and Oracle GovCloud, or on-premise object stores such as MinIO, Ceph and NetApp StorageGRID. Client-side end-to-end encryption means your cloud provider never sees plaintext. This fits data-residency rules and regulated industries such as healthcare and the public sector.
Learn more: AWS GovCloud, on-premise object stores.
Web and SaaS
Scale out WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, Magento or PrestaShop
Scaling your content management system (CMS) is easy when you store its files on ObjectiveFS. Just spin up more cloud instances and mount your filesystem. Uploads and updates are visible to every server.
Learn more: sharing files between EC2 instances, small-file performance.
Development
One dev environment: public cloud, on-premise and laptops
Mount the same filesystem on your cloud instances, on-premise servers, office workstations and Linux or Mac laptops. Edit files locally, and your development and test environments everywhere see the updates.
